Just curious, but at what point in the history of the church does the  fixation with “Mission” begin?  I was reading through a summary of the recent COP meeting, and they talking about mission.  Haven’t they been talking about that since at least 2005?   Back in my Chicago days, the circuit spent a year talking about formation of pastors.  Then, the next year, they decided to change the topic to pastoral formation.  It was all they could talk about.  Does the COP understand that there are topics other than mission to be discussed?  And to be honest, once you read my next post, you may think, like I do, that “You keep using that word.  I do not think it means what you think it means.”
