On Presidential Elections

A dear friend of mine has a theory regarding LCMS politics : A Conservative POTUS means a liberal POTS, and vice versa.  So, when Texans got elected back in 2000/2001, he was not at all surprised.  Now that “O” is in the Oval Office, he thoroughly expected the sort of nomination numbers for Harrison that we now see.   Indeed, he expects a Harrison win, based almost solely on the current occupant of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

If you look back, I suppose it makes sense, until you get to 68/69 – Preus/Nixon.  The exception that proves the rule?   Anyway, if that is true, do we start praying for a second term for O?  Or can Matt Harrison buck the trend and get elected with a President Palin in office?

Time will tell…
