For the Dean and For the Record

The Following is posted for the Dean of the Cathedral of the Wyoming District.  It is posted after the jump because :

For the Record, I am being forced at gunpoint to post this for him.  Goodness knows my seminary was never about this sort of extremism, and neither am I.   I would certainly eschew doing anything like this, especially at a pastor’s conference (most especially if it falls during “Beer in the Hotel Room Hour”).  So, under extreme duress, I am posting this, and hoping that it never gets used.  Specifically that it never gets used after someone sets it to the hauntingly beautiful music of LSB.  That would be far to extreme for me. I don’t even know what any of it means.  I just know it’s too extreme.

P : Noctem quiétam et finem perféctum concédat nobis Dóminus omnípotens.

C :  Amen.

P: Bonum est confiteri Domino,

C: Et psallere nomini tuo, Altissime:

P: Ad annuntiandum mane misericordiam tuam,

Amen.

C : Misereátur tui omnípotens Deus, et, dimíssis peccátis tuis, perdúcat te ad vitam ætérnam.

P.  In manus tuas, Dómine, * Comméndo spíritum meum.

C.  In manus tuas, Dómine, * Comméndo spíritum meum.

P.  Redemísti nos, Dómine Deus veritátis.

C.  Comméndo spíritum meum.

P.  Glória Patri, et Fílio, et Spirítui Sancto.

C.  In manus tuas, Dómine, * Comméndo spíritum meum.

P.  Custódi nos Dómine ut pupíllam óculi.

C.  Sub umbra alárum tuárum prótege nos.

P: Ego autem in justitia apparebo conspectui tuo;

C.  Amen.

Amen.

R.  Amen.

  1. Don’t you just love Compline?

I’m not sure about gunpoint. Let’s just call it a Mass kit in a handgun case.

Oh…and I spent part of my Easter Octave vacation at the Cody, WY Buffalo Bill Historical Center, featuring the Cody Firearms Museum.

    No pressure at all!

(After CPH has done a French LSB, now we’ll just have to do an edition in Latin!)

  2. Oh, hey, sign me up for the Latin edition!
