Last-Fruit Giving

My old friend Pr. Beisel has a post on first fruits giving, in which he points out that the “Widows Mite” was actually last-fruit giving.  I can’t believe no one ever noticed this before.

  1. Rev. Paul L. Beisel Says:

What’s really funny about this is that I thought of it while writing checks for offering for the next two weeks.

  2. Very Baptist of you, Forest Boar! A local Baptist congregation counts the donations before the service ends. If they don’t make budget, they take up another offering. If that doesn’t over expenses, they take up a third offering. And that’s no April fool’s joke.

  3. Forest Boar, I had no idea you resembled Drs. Scaer and Rast! And to think they don’t look at all alike…

  4. Neither can be Melancthon, as they both still profess the faith of the holy catholic church.
